Q & A: Self Audits and Full Compliance Reviews (CRs)
Bruce Clarke and Sobhy Girgis, Facilitators
This session will cover specific questions gathered from a state-wide survey regarding changes made to the State’s Loss Prevention Manual and its Loss Prevention Safety Audit process. As the Office of Risk Management values the voice of its employees, relevant questions will be gathered, prioritized, discussed and ultimately answered for attendees. Even if audience members were not able to submit questions through the online survey, they will definitely benefit from the engaging discussions between LPOs, facilitators and agency members. Real-time feedback tools and group exercises will be used to help reinforce the audience’s understanding of responses.
Session objectives:
Provide a clear understanding of specific audit type questions.
Provide a forum to share best practice techniques from both an agency and a LPO perspective.
Further prepare those unfamiliar with the process with a clear understanding of what is needed or expected to be “compliant.”

“Going Green” May Save Your Agency Gr$$n
Bruce Clarke and Sobhy Girgis, Facilitators
Green building and technology is expanding at an exponential rate across the World. In fact, the State of Louisiana has significant new legislation on this subject. In a time when things are changing so fast, knowing what “going green means” is just good professional development. And, in a time when State resources are tight and budgets are getting reduced, going green may save your agency gr$$n with some minor effort. And, compliance with State legislation, present and future, along with saving State resources is certainly not a negative in any case. This will be a fast-paced overview of
these topics and “thinking outside of the box techniques.”
Session objectives:
Provide an overview of the global green movement in construction and operations.
Provide an overview of State-related legislation and local impact.
Provide an overview of ways to save State money by thinking green and, “just thinking outside of the box.”

Inspiring Compliance Using Training Tools
Bruce Clarke and Sobhy Girgis, Facilitators
This session is geared to supporting local agency level employees responsible for delivering, documenting, and/or training their staff on audit relating items. Innovative technologies are taking center stage in the Internet community; but how much impact will they have on the way your agency provides training or cascades information? What might be the benefits of integrating user-generated learning content within your local training meetings? With every new generation of learners, many are asking themselves these same very questions.
Session objectives:
Provide resourceful and FREE tools that could help increase training attendance.
Promote the share of techniques and statistics that will help reduce training time while increasing retention.
Enable attendees to share success stories regarding “Doing more with what they were given.”
